It’s a familiar claim: “Oh, I’m no good at quizzes.” I must have heard it dozens of times, and my response is always the same, “Ah, but you might just know that one answer that makes all the difference!” And I wouldn’t say it if I didn’t believe it.
A quiz is different to those social events that need their participants to adopt a proactive attitude to mixing and mingling, to create conversation and interaction, often out of thin air - something that can be challenging for those not naturally confident. A quiz event gives all its participants something to focus on, something to pull together on and it removes all the tricky and embarrassing situations of trying to create conversation out of nothing.
You might think that you’re no good at quizzes, but you might just have that one piece of knowledge that answers just one extra question and that can make all the difference to the team. Variety is the spice of life and variety makes a good quiz team!
